Ⅰ. Flow range

The flow requirements determine the size of the pump tubing and the type of pump head for a specific application.

II. Material of pump head

The pump head material should be resistant to chemical corrosion, and the bearings should be protected by a shell to cope with corrosive fluids or harsh environmental conditions. Pump heads with high-performance plastic shells have the advantages of light weight, strong chemical corrosion resistance, and low price.

III. Number of rollers

With a reduction in the number of rollers on a rotor of a given size, the flow rate increases; however, the pulsation degree also increases. Conversely, an increase in the number of rollers leads to a decrease in pulsation degree and an increase in distribution accuracy; however, the flow rate decreases and the service life of the pump tube is shortened. As the number of rollers passing through the pump tube increases over a certain period of time, the vacuum and pressure performance of the pump tube also improve.

Ⅳ. Easy to assemble and disassemble

The method of assembling and disassembling pump tubing can significantly impact user satisfaction with the pump. In industries such as pharmaceuticals, food supply, and printing, frequent replacement of pump tubing (for instance, once per shift or daily) is required. To save time during cleaning or product changeover, it is advisable to use easy-to-assemble pump heads, thereby reducing costly labor expenses

V. Compatible pump tube size

A pump head type that can only fit with one pump tube size can exhibit the performance of this specific size (such as its ability to withstand pressure and vacuum, flexural yield limit, etc.). On the other hand, a pump head that can fit with multiple pump tube sizes exhibits more average performance. This allows the same pump head to have a wider range of pumping capabilities

VI. Fixed or adjustable locking degree of pump tubing.

To what extent should the locking degree of the pump tube be controlled to ensure the pump works properly? The advantage of the fixed locking type peristaltic pump is that it performs well when used repeatedly and reduces the chances of operator errors. When used with precision extruded pump tubes, it provides excellent repeatability.

The adjustable locking peristaltic pump can increase the locking degree of the pump tube during self-priming, or decrease it in low-pressure applications, to extend the service life of the pump tube. This method also allows for fine adjustment of flow rate. It is particularly useful for flow synchronization of multi-channel pump heads.

For example, by combining two fluid channels with complementary pulsations, the fluid delivery process can be made smoother; using PTFE pump tubing can achieve superior chemical corrosion resistance; and by matching a specific pump tubing set with a specific pump head, it is possible to deliver highly chemically corrosive fluids or high-purity fluids.

For example, combining two fluid channels with complementary pulsations can make the fluid delivery process smoother (such as with the DMD25 pump head); using PTFE pump tubing can achieve superior chemical corrosion resistance; and matching a specific pump tubing set with a specific pump head allows for the delivery of highly chemically corrosive fluids or high-purity fluids.
